This website is operated by Alai International Inc., a US company with address at 237 Kearny street, Suite 9116, San Francisco CA, 94108. We operate as an intermediate between local volunteer operators, non-profit organizations, hosts in order to provide our users with the possibility to search and book volunteer trips, and other services online. We do not provide, own or run any academic and/or accommodation services. Our service is based on information of the services provided by our partner volunteer organizations, schools, host, users and the service providers in general. In addition to the Alai International Inc Terms & Conditions participants are also subject to the rules and regulations governing the particular local volunteer organization they are attending and/or any relevant service booked. Alai international is not liable for damage or injury caused to persons or property arising from the agreement entered into between the customer and the service providers selected and all disputes between you and the service providers must be resolved as between the parties.
When you book with Alai International you benefit from having the competitive price available for that volunteer program or trip, competent and friendly customer service. Should you have any questions or problems with your booking we will be there to assist in whatever way we can if any difficulties arise.
Alai International makes no guarantee or implied warranty that the information and materials contained in this website are error-free. No liability is assumed for errors, omissions, or damages resulting from the use of the information herein. The information provided is on an “as is” basis.
Alai International reserves the right to change these Terms and Conditions or the services it offers from time to time.
Alai International reserves the right to refuse acceptance of any application or participant.
The volunteer is responsible for arranging his travel and paying for airfare and other local transportation costs in destination country. Volunteer is responsible for all necessary travel documentation and obtaining visas, if applicable. Alai International has the right to suggest travel routes, but the participant is responsible for the choice of transportation and its costs to and from the destination. All the documentation needed for travel must be valid and up to date for their planned duration of the program.
Alai International does not provide travel insurance of any kind. We strongly recommend having insurance for all participants before the trip. The participant is responsible for evaluating, assessing and determining the insurance coverage for her/his travel.
If you have any illnesses, allergies or disability, this must be reported to the service providers at the time of confirmation of the booking.
It is the responsibility of the participant to arrange all applicable travel permits or visas and to have a valid passport. Alai International is not responsible for determining whether or not a participant needs a visa. Visa regulations change from time to time therefore we strongly advise you to contact the relevant Embassy/Consulate in your country for up to date information.
If Alai international cancels a booked program for any reason, you are entitled to a full refund.
Alai International issues a full refund for registration fees and program fees for cancelations made 90 days before the program start date. Alternatively, you may ask for the credit to be held in your name for future use on Alai International programs, subject to availability, for a period of 24 months from the earliest registration date at no charge.
The cancelations made less than 90 days and more than 30 days prior to the program start date will be charged 300$ for administrative costs. Alternatively, you can use the credits and change the program dates up to 24 months from the earliest registration date at no charge.
The cancelations made less than 30 days prior to the start date will not be issued any refund.

Change of Dates and Duration
After registration you can change duration and start date without any penalties 30-day prior the start date. Changes made between 30 days and 14 days prior to the program start date requires additional fee of 100$ and depends on the availability of the program you choose.
Changes made less than 14 days prior to the program start date requires additional fee of 150$ and depends on the availability of the program you choose.
Alai International discounts
If you refer a friend or family member, you get US$50 credit reward. Referred or returning participants are eligible for a 10% discount on registration fees.
The volunteer acknowledges and accepts responsibilities and risks that are associated with travel. You need to consider foreseen and unforeseen possible outcomes of your activities and actions. Therefore, Alai International is not responsible and not liable for any loss and harm volunteer may experience, counting but not limited to hurt initiated directly or indirectly by personal injury, emotional trauma, illness, death, natural disaster, loss or damage of personal property. Moreover, the participant agrees to hold harmless Alai International, its partners, its management, and its employees.The participant also agrees NOT to make any type of claim, financial or otherwise, against any of the aforementioned parties.
Ala International and its local partners reserve the right to remove any participant from any program or activity if that person’s actions or behavior impede the operation of the program or infringe on the rights, welfare, and enjoyment of other participants. Anyone removed from the program will NOT be entitled to a refund or discount.
The volunteer agrees to indemnify Alai International and exempt from liabilities occurring during your stay, work and living. Besides, volunteer approves not to hold Alai International liable for actions of its partner organizations.
Notwithstanding this or any other agreement, Alai International’s liability shall not in aggregate exceed the amount of the program fee paid by the participant.
The volunteer approves following guidelines and rules by Alai International and its partners.
The participant agrees to abide by local laws, as well as Alai International’s and its partners’ codes of conduct and safety waiver, with respect to alcohol consumption.
Whereas Alai International and/or its partners may provide basic information about local laws, Alai international is NOT a legal expert and it is the participant’s sole responsibility to ensure he/she is in compliance with the law.
Use of illegal drugs is strictly prohibited and will result in immediate dismissal from the program with no refund. Alai International may exercise the right to notify the participants’s emergency contact if the volunteer is dismissed from the program, and in all other circumstances as deemed appropriate by Alai international and/or its local partners.
Feedback & Photos
Alai International reserves the right to use photo and video material taken during the program or related to the program, feedback, and comments acquired by volunteers or Alai International.
Alai International has no liability in case of unavailability or failure of service that begins from any reasonable problem beyond the control.
